Kitchen appliance maker Bosch has said that it is the "green appliance leader" with its dishwashers among the technology the company believes to be particularly eco-friendly and therefore useful for green homes.

According to the company's president and chief executive officer, Franz J Bosshard, the firm has the "most efficient machines on the market", good news for anyone looking to introduce energy efficient appliances and consumer electricals into their homes.

"From its global low-impact manufacturing approach, to the key partnerships it has formed with sustainable construction and design leaders, Bosch is the undisputed green appliance leader, " Mr Bosshard said.

Bosch's Logixx range of free-standing dishwashers have an A-rating for energy efficiency, as do the company's range of built-in dishwashers for the UK market.

A number of the Logixx range are also recommended by the Energy Saving Trust (EST), according to the Bosch website.

The company also lists its five-point pledge to being greener on its website, known as the Bosch Principles of Environmental protection.
